Mast Climbing Equipment Rental Canton, OH

Mast climbing equipment is a cost-effective alternative to scaffolding. With easy and fast erection, mast climbing platforms get your workers in place safely with minimal delay. Our Klimer mast climbers can reduce your operating costs by 50%. Additionally, your productivity improves because your workers don’t spend half their time climbing scaffolding ladders to reach their place of work. When it’s time to move to another location, dismantling and erection of our innovative solutions is quick and safe.

How Is Mast Climbing Different From Traditional Scaffolding?

A traditional scaffold is a complex temporary structure made from scaffolding poles and platforms. It provides access to building exteriors during construction.

Scaffolding erection is time-consuming and requires specially trained and OSHA-qualified erectors. Erection costs are high, and you can’t work until the entire structure has been certified safe for use. On large buildings, erectors must fasten scaffolding to the building in multiple places and pay particular attention to the stability of the structure using complex stays and supports.

A mast climber is a powered platform supported by one or two vertical masts that raise the work crew and their materials to their place of work. Powered by gas or electric hydraulic motors, the climber’s vertical position is adjustable to the best working height. Mast climbers provide an easy way to raise materials to the workplace without cranes or material hoists. Depending on the height, a mast climber may be freestanding or secured to the building with masonry ties.

What Are the Benefits of Mast Climbing?

Benefits of our mast climbing equipment over traditional scaffolding include:

  • Faster erection: The erection of a mast climber takes 20% to 40% of the time to erect scaffolding.
  • Higher labor productivity: Employees get to their workplace faster and with less fatigue.
  • Safety: Platforms have multiple safety systems, including safety rails and solid platforms.
  • Lower cost: Installation costs are lower, and you can complete your part of the contract in less time.
  • Easier to secure: Mast climbers require fewer securing points than scaffolding.
  • Ergonomics: By positioning the platform at the right height, you can minimize workers’ muscle strain and workplace injuries.

How Do We Ensure the Safe Operation of Mast Climbing?

The safety of workers should be a primary consideration. Our Klimer mast climbers incorporate many safety features, including double travel limit switches on the platform. The drive system has four redundant hydraulic motors and an auxiliary engine for safe emergency descents. Our safety protocols include daily visual and functional checks, and our comprehensive training and documentation covers ground conditions, materials safety and tying masts to the structure.
